| Use: | Abidol Hydrochloride is a dual-action anti-influenza virus drug developed by the Soviet Union's Research Center for Medicinal Chemistry to simultaneously combat influenza caused by influenza A and B viruses, and may also have antiviral activity against a number of other respiratory viral infections. It is used against influenza and other acute respiratory viral infections. Abidol Hydrochloride has a carboxylate structure, so it may be a carrier precursor drug. It has immunomodulatory, interference-inducing and antioxidant properties, inducing host cells to produce interferon and stimulating humoral responses and phagocytosis by macrophages, causing cellular and humoral immunity, and it is hypothesized that its antiviral effects are closely related to the enhancement of immune function. |
